Next week, Governor Lynch will
bring his proposal to increase tolls on New
Hampshire drivers traveling in Bedford, Hooksett, Dover,
Rochester, and Hampton to the Executive Council for their
approval. For New
Hampshire taxpayers, this comes on the heels of Lynch’s
$450 million increase in taxes and fees – including an increase in the real
estate transfer tax and an increase in car registration fees – to fund this
year’s bloated budget.
Having a Democrat in the corner
office for nine out of the last eleven years, three with Lynch and six with
former Governor Jeanne Shaheen, has led to mismanagement of the Highway Trust
Fund. All New Hampshire residents want to
travel safely on our roads and bridges, but Lynch and the Democrats in
Concord need to
prove to taxpayers that they can be responsible custodians of the state’s
finances before they can collect more of our hard-earned dollars.
** Take Action Now * * “
Mismanagement in the first three years of Governor Lynch’s
administration has brought this problem to a head and Governor Lynch’s
solution, as usual, is to increase taxes. We saw the same approach
earlier this year with his willingness to increase car registration
fees, the real estate transfer tax, cigarette taxes, and other taxes
and fees totaling $450 million in an effort to plug holes in his
budget. This is the problem when you have a Governor who has no
philosophical opposition to bigger government, increased spending and
higher taxes,” Fergus Cullen, Chairman NH GOP -
