With National Debt At $14.1 Trillion, Shaheen Votes Against Balanced Budget Resolution

Shaheen’s Resistance To Balancing the Federal Budget Shows She Didn’t Get The Message Last November; NH Voters Want Fiscal Sanity

CONCORD – As the Democrats out of control spending continues to push the federal deficit down even further, Senator Jeanne Shaheen voted against a bipartisan resolution in support of a balanced budget amendment, proving her recent boasting about cleaning up the fiscal mess in Washington is all talk.

“We commend Senator Kelly Ayotte on her vote to pass a balanced budget amendment staying true to the promises she made to New Hampshire families and her commitment to make the government live within its own means and reign in the enormous federal debt,” said NHGOP Communications Director, Christine Baratta.

Shaheen’s startling hypocrisy is highlighted by a recent statement that President Obama’s proposed budget does not “address our deficit concerns.” She continues, “We must look at a comprehensive deficit reduction and tax reform package that tackles all aspects of this problem.”

Despite voicing rhetorical support in the past for a balanced budget, New Hampshire voters got to see exactly where Shaheen stands when it matters most.

“This vote proves that Senator Shaheen is not the least bit worried or willing to support common sense efforts to fix the unsustainable debt. Her radical liberal record of voting for the failed stimulus and against the repeal of Obamacare, shows she does not share the same fiscal concerns of the voters and is ignoring a problem she helped create. Last November, the voters of New Hampshire rejected the Democrat’s reckless spending sprees and job-killing policies and in 2014, they will reject Jeanne Shaheen.”

RNC CHAIR REINCE PRIEBUS TO SPEAK AT MARCH NHGOP FUNDRAISER

Concord – The New Hampshire Republican State Committee is pleased to announce the

“First in the Nation Celebration” Fundraiser will be held March 29th at the Grappone Center in Concord.
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will serve as the keynote speaker. Chairman Kimball will present former state GOP chair and Gov. John H. Sununu with a new award, called the “First-in-the-Nation Excellence Award” for Governor Sununu’s decades of dedication and service to the Republican Party.

“Chairman Priebus understands the critical importance fundraising will play in allowing our Party to maintain present majorities in both the House and the Senate, as well as supporting our state GOP effort to expand the Republican Party,” said Kimball.

“We must return principled conservative Republican leadership to the governor’s office, as well as deliver a strong Republican nominee who will defeat President Obama in 2012. New Hampshire and our country cannot afford another Obama term. Here in New Hampshire and Washington D.C., the Democrats have clearly shown they have no interest in creating an environment where small businesses can flourish. In fact, they’ve done just the opposite. Their continuous tax and regulatory attack on business will continue to destroy jobs and delay any chance of economic recovery. I am committed to supporting the Republican House and Senate in bringing back fiscal sanity in our state, through strong, conservative, business-friendly legislation.”
